St. Matthew's Church, Coates,
Cirencester, Gloucestershire.
GL7 6NS
Set on the edge of the village, St.Matthew's Church is not immediately obvious to visitors to the area.
Follow the Trewsbury Road through the village passing the Village Hall on your right and the RDA stables on your left and just before the bend in the road you will see a finger post marked 'To the Church'. Park on the road here and follow the narrow footpath parallel to the garden of The Old Rectory or continue round the bend taking the first turning on the left down a lane which leads to another gate to the churchyard. There are a few spaces here where visitors to the church may park.
Because of it's isolated position the congregation of St.Matthew's Church work hard to make it more visible in the village. They hold occasional services and regular coffee mornings in the Village Hall as well as fun family activities for Mothering Sunday and Harvest Festival at The Riding for the Disabled Association Stables.
