“Honour your father and mother”
—which is the first commandment with a promise—

“so that it may go well with you
and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”
Ephesians 6:1-3

If you are researching your family history in the area covered by our Benefice you will probably want to look at Parish Registers and even visit the places where your ancestors were baptised, married or buried.

Most of our churches are open during daylight hours and you are welcome to come and look around them although if you are travelling a distance it is wise to contact us and we can check to save you a wasted journey.

As far as Parish Registers are concerned many of ours are now in the Gloucestershire Archives and it is a good idea to check their records to see if they hold what you are looking for.

All of the Marriages that took place around or before 2007 in Somerford Keynes, Poole Keynes and Kemble are in Registers in the archives in Gloucester.

Similarly Marriages that took place before 2015 (and part of it) in Rodmarton, Coates, Sapperton and Frampton Mansell are also in those archives.

For Baptisms and Burials please contact us if you cannot find the Register you are looking for in the Parish Register Guide on the Gloucestershire Archives website and we will do our best to help you.

Please refer to our Fees page for information on the costs related to searching the registers.
