GDASS (Gloucester Domestic Abuse Support Service)
Christmas Collection

Another challenge caused by coronavirus. Many of you will know we collect gifts every year for those supported through the women's refuge to provide a little support and a little extra joy and hope at Christmas for people in very difficult circumstances. Judith Miles and the team at GDASS have come up with a great plan to circumvent the challenges caused by the pandemic and continue to support those in need (and please do remember one of the results of the pandemic is increased need for these services). We have copied below the article going in our physical magazine and if you are able to offer support by donating a voucher please do and thank you for your continuing generosity.
All of us can continue to pray for those caught in challenging circumstances so please do keep praying for GDASS and everyone who receives support from them.
If you can't drop your gift off direct to Judith or at the Kemble Stores you are welcome to drop them at the Rectory in Coates and I will pass them to Judith.
Every blessing

Some of you may have read the piece in October's Parish News in which I outlined changes to the way we hope  to give Christmas gifts to what we all affectionately call the Women's Refuge.  Instead of the wonderful bags of goodies for women and children the benefice usually despatches, we are asking you to donate gift vouchers - any sort, from those you can buy at the Post Office counter, which people can use at a variety of outlets, to high street and supermarket brands. Please pop them in an unsealed envelope (think Covid!) with the amount donated and the store involved written in pencil on the outside. I'll happily accept them, as will Kam Chudasama (Kemble Stores, Kemble).  So that we give them to the women involved in time for them to buy presents, please let us have them by 20 NOVEMBER at the latest.

Very many thanks
Judith Miles
